A townhome on a nook lot in Prospect Lefferts Backyard, a historic district in Brooklyn, New York, follows within the footsteps of the neighborhood’s lineage of late Nineteenth- and early Twentieth-century homes. Although the constructing’s exterior is landmarked, the inside presents free rein. For the purchasers, a pair with two kids who wanted a house that’s “clear, brilliant, pure, extremely purposeful/useful, and kid-friendly,” Abruzzo Bodziak Architects (ABA) didn’t try and recreate or restore the historic, however relatively gestured towards it in much less decorative style.
